About this guy...

Matt Kramer - Tactical Talks - Public Speaking

Howdy! My name is Matt Kramer and I used to suffer excruciating death when speaking in front of a group, now I, well, can do it. Overcoming this fear has changed my life and it can change yours, too. My focus is to help you overcome the fear of public speaking so you can build the confidence to go after what you want in life. I also analyze and tactically dissect speeches.

  1. From page 10 of the Speech Breakdown…

“Also, a more unconventional use of the Rule of Three was his opening sentence. “The Contest Chair was relieved, my title’s only 3 words long.” Why not 2, why not 1, why not 4, 5, 6, etc.? Surely, he was aware of the power of three, that’s why.”

I think the reason behind the opening sentence is to remind the audience of his speech in the past. The title of his previous speech had 72 words a few years ago. That’s why the audience who was familiar with the reference of the sentence picked up the humor.

Overall, I enjoyed reading your analyses.

    1. Yep you’re right! I remember the long title and that is what he was referencing. My point was that the new title is 3 words versus something other like 4, or 5, or 6, etc. Thanks for checking out the breakdowns! I’m almost finished with my next one for Ryan Avery (2012 winner).
