The HUNT is on!

Each month I will scour the interwebz looking for the best articles on public speaking.

I'll be looking for topics like these:

  • Overcoming the fear of public speaking
  • Presentation tips
  • Body language and other technical speaking tips
  • And anything in between...

I'm looking for the interesting, the fascinating, the practical, and anything with worthwhile information to help you become a better communicator.

The best of the freaking best!

The purpose is to save you time. A lot of what's out there can get repetitive and end up wasting your time.

Don't worry, though, I'm doing the scavenging so you don't have to. It will ALL be right here for you.

Grab a coffee and get to reading.

1. Virtual Reality To Overcome The Fear Of Public Speaking?

Here are a couple of articles about it. This one from the Huffington Post,  and this one from Gadgette.com.

This has some potential! I can see a place for this. In fact, I wrote an article about a similar technique and talked about it in my book

What do you think? I think it could be a serious option and I'm keeping an eye out for it.

2. Preparing Just Before A Speech

Nick Morgan always puts out some great tips on how to be a better speaker.

Here's an article he wrote for Forbes giving you 7 ways to prep right before you’re about to speak.

3. Public Speaking Trick That Helped Bring Us Successful TED Talks From Amy Cuddy And Adam Grant

Amy Cuddy's TED Talk has been viewed 32,648,069 times. Wow.

Her TED Talk is well worth the watch, but in this article on Business Insider she gives some insight into how she was able to calm her anxiety before she gave her talk.

4. The Lowdown On TED Talks!

This is an article on Forbes by Todd Hixon that explains the benefits of TED Talks and why communication skills are a must! Check it out

5. Public Speaking Phrases To Avoid

Here’s an article from Huffington Post by Jonathan Li about some phrases to get rid of. Solid tips.

The only one I disagree with is #4. I believe that phrase can actually help cue the audience to listen.

Enjoy. Learn. Stay tuned for next month's top articles from around the world wide internet marketplace.

About this guy...

Matt Kramer - Tactical Talks - Public Speaking

Howdy! My name is Matt Kramer and I used to suffer excruciating death when speaking in front of a group, now I LOVE it. Overcoming this fear has changed my life. In less than a year since, I’ve started this website, Tactical Talks, competed and won 3 separate public speaking contests, wrote a book, and spoke at one of the top universities in southern California (SDSU).

And look, I’m not telling you this to “show off.” My purpose is to show you that it’s possible to start doing the things that YOU want to do. And that’s my goal. My focus is to help you overcome the fear of public speaking so you can build the confidence to go after what you want in life.
